The Compass ☐|ⵔ

The Compass ☐|ⵔ

A compass is made up of

half a square ☐ & half a circle ◯

Together they enumerate the way number 5 is written.

Earth is both physically round and logically square for mapping purposes.

A rectangular square: 4 × 90° = 360° the same as a circle.

#Lv5 A simple compass debunks the flat earth theory

1. Geographic North

2. Magnetic North

#Lv6 Likewise with a sextant

1. A true horizon

2. A visible horizon

#Lv6 Likewise with reading the volume in a beaker

1. A true volume

2. A visible volume

Orbit: Trajectory, intercept trajectory, tracking, tractor beam, five-by-five in the pipe.

Pivotal [K:E:Y]

A pentagraph is a device used in surveying. Some times also called a pantograph with 5 pivots. The pentagraph introduces til ability to draw a small drawing and make the pentagraph duplicate it in a #Lv6 scalability.

Quintile: 72º = ⅕ × 360º, represents the five⛦points of a pentagram.

Biquintile: 144º = 2 × 72º = 2 × ⅕ × 360º, represents the five⛦lines of a pentagram.

Divination: The Gilbert Compass in The Vampire Diaries.

Navigation: The original German WW-II March Compass

Boxing the compass

Nordstjernen og Karlsvognen.webp

Without a compass we can still connect•|•dots for an orientation.
5x the distance from the rear axis of the Big dipper or Ursa major in the Great bear constellation, points to the Northern star for navigation.

The 'Karlvognen' in Danish is not a recognized constellation by the International Astronomical Union.

Divination vs. Navigation

A divination compass or diving compass, as a Chinese luopan, for fengshui, has a needle that points towards

the magnetic south pole.

A strong moral compass

[X:Y] coordinates: "Across the street and up to the girl." You can remember how to read the coordinates this heuristic semantic way, instead of terms like the abscissa axis (X) and the ordinate (Y) axis.

For an orientation from beyond here, there will always be another girl and another streetcar to get to her.

Aztec compass of providence

Navigation: The #course of the sun and the moon (OU)

Divination: The #curse of the sun and the moon (OU)

OU: The father sun and the son of the sun (vowels)

Astronomy for the wise observant (adhering strictly to the rules of a particular religion) from the mountains and myths for the children to tell.

The foundation of all religions: the Sun and the moon & the mountains and the stars.

The calendar is the foundation of all religions. Known as the 4-wheel driver (seasons). If farming and hunting went well it was the main course, if not then a curse for the troublesome (vampires as slaves to the sun and werewolves as servants of the moon).

The five suns: the four suns of the past sacrificed themselves to give birth to the fifth sun in motion and to the moon. And time was born and the sunrise reborn every day in the east.

Providence of #lv7 ship type rulership for orientation and mapping.

North: God of providence, the darkness and the invisible, lord of the night, ruler of the north.

East: God of force, lord of the seasons and rebirth, ruler of the east.

West: God of life, the light and wisdom, lord of the winds and the day, ruler of the west.

South: God of war, lord of the sun and fire, ruler of the south.

Boxing The Compass

It won't matter for long, if you have knowledge of maps and a compass. After two years, the forest would have grown and finding your way around had roots in the previous unit with the mapping in the cadastral register just to compensate for changes with the growth in the forest.

If you thought you were going to get around in Copenhagen without the latest map, you might get lost.

Military /Div!

In the military the term 'klick' is a standard of measure of walked distances in kilometers, so if you're 5 klicks south of your base, then you are about 5 kilometers away (0.6214 miles or 3,280.84 feet).

Boxing the compass

A 32-point marine compass comprises of the following divisions:

• Cardinal points

• Inter-cardinal points

• Half points

• Quarter or by points

Cardinal points

The four cardinal points are the main directions of the compass.

• North (N)

• East (E)

• South (S)

• West (W)

These cardinal points are the right angles of the compass.

Inter-cardinal points

The inter-cardinal points are formed by bisecting the angle of the cardinal points.

• Northeast (NE)

• Southeast (SE)

• Southwest (SW)

• Northwest (NW)

The cardinal and the inter-cardinal points together form the eight principal directions of the compass.

Half points

The half-points obtained by bisecting the angles between the eight principal points.

• North-northeast (NNE)

• East-northeast (ENE)

• East-southeast (ESE)

• South-southeast (SSE)

• South-southwest (SSW)

• West-southwest (WSW)

• West-northwest (WNW)

• North-northwest (NNW)

Quarter or by points

Further 16 points are obtained by bisecting the angles between the above 16 points. These are called quarter points or by points.

In the first [quadrant]

North by east (NbE)

Northeast by north (NEbN)

Northeast by east (NEbE)

East by north (EbN)

In the second [quadrant]

East by south (EbS)

Southeast by east (SEbE)

Southeast by south (SEbS)

South by east (SbE)

In the third [quadrant]

South by west (SbW)

Southwest by south (SWbS)

Southwest by west (SWbW)

West by south (WbS)

In the fourth [quadrant]

West by north (WbN)

Northwest by west (NWbW)

Northwest by north (NWbN)

North by west (NbW)

The 32-point compass is yielded from the eight principal points, eight half-points and sixteen quarter-points combined together, with each point at an 11.25° angle from the next.

{Formula}: 360 / 32 = 11.25°

Furthermore the 32-point marine compass can be bisected into 128 fractional points.
